Why do bands/artists like music videos?

1) Because they make them look good - music video is a highly stylised representation of the band.

2) Brings a visual element to the song.

3) An excellent way to promote the band; music channels (The Box, Kerrang, MTV, music channels (YouTube, Vimeo).

4) its fun.

5) They get to work with great directors; Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham ...

6) The story of the song is told in a visual (often film - like) way- lots of music videos have a narrative, film element.

7) Music Videos can show the personality of the band.

8) music video can be incorporated into live set ( e.g. the Gorrillaz).

9) Allows the band to do stuff they cannot do on stage.

10) Product placement/endorsement ( Lady Gaga Telephone)

Abc project

I experimented with filming and editing, Finding objects and shapes to represent letters in a Abc song.

Stop-Motion Animation Project

I completed this project before summer break. I wanted to experiment with stop-motion animation techniques. I took a series of photographs which I animated using Photoshop CS3.
